HPOU election sign-ups started

Candidate sign-ups are now open for the 2022 Houston Police Officers’ Union election.  This election cycle includes 13 HPOU board positions and two of the Union’s vice-presidential positions.  Sign-ups will continue until 10 a.m. on Oct. 6.

According to HPOU bylaws, a sample ballot will be posted Oct. 10, the same day electronic voting begins at noon.

Union members may cast their ballots until noon on Oct. 21. Tentative election results will be posted within 24 hours. Go to HPOU.org to log in and vote.

Final results will be posted 72 hours from the official end of voting.

Both 2nd and 3rd vice presidential positions are on the ballot along with the following board positions on the ballot. – PRINT HERE

  • Board Positions 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12 and 13 for police officers only.
  • Board Position 14 for a police officer or sergeant.
  • Board Positions 16 and 18 for sergeants only.
  • Board Position 20 for a police officer on HPD for 10 years or less and who must be assigned to Patrol.
