Northeast’s community Christmas program saw early delivery Of goodies, gifts and tons of goodwill for officers involved

Just before the beginning of the Christmas holidays Northeast Patrol officers initiated a Santa-oriented program designed to build upon and improve community relationships with students and parents from Scroggins Elementary School.

With evaluations all in, the program – which featured decorated patrol cars, goody bags loaded with candy and gifts from Blue Santa was deemed a huge success.

“In a collective collaboration with Scroggins Elementary and HPD, GHPAL, Northeast DRT Unit,” coordinator Officer Krystal Hodge said, “this event was able to provide a joyous environment for all the families.”

You could tell by the smiles on the faces of the kids and the officers handing out the gifts and goodies that the event provided officers an “opportunity to provide a joyous event for underprivileged students who will be having holiday break soon.”

It all began with a parade around the school located at 400 Boyles Street. It featured a trailer with a special “sleigh” constructed by Officer Hodge.
