The fundraising efforts to benefit Officer Rudy Madrid, a victim of esophageal cancer, were approaching $50,000, according to the latest tabulations.
The total for the virtual fundraising auction which ended July 31 raised $20,511.83, while the gun raffle that ended Aug. 31 raised an additional amount totaling more than $26,000.
“We are expecting more donations that should make the grand total from all the ATO Madrid Fundraiser events close to $50,000″, Gabriela Gregory, ATO secretary, said.
Funds will be used to help Madrid with growing medical expenses.
Continue through the end of August.
The fundraising also included sale of T-shirts. All funds are channeled through Assist the Officer Foundation.
