Officers Travis Tippit and Alekesei Graham were recognized as Patrol Officers of the Month at the November general membership meeting.
Officers Tippit and Graham responded to a Code 1 burglary of a residence in progress call. Upon arrival, they were told by residents that a suspect had broken in and taken a female into the bedroom.
Officers approached and heard violent screaming coming from the bedroom. They forced entry and observed a male that was sexually assaulting a female. With weapons drawn, they started verbal commands and made entry to get custody of the male and render aid to the female complainant.
Officers received charges for Burglary with Intent to commit Sexual Assault but more charges may be pending with investigations. The bravery of these officers to run into danger and save this complainant from future pain, grief and even possibly death is heroic to say the least. Their quick and decisive actions got a violent offender in custody as well as saved a life.
